Please note: This page usually has a scrollable list of our adoptable dogs from PetFinder. PetFinder attempted to update their website in early December and has been experiencing significant issues since with very slow resolutions. Due to this, our staff are updating this page manually, which may mean a delay in updating newly available pets or removing recently adopted pets. If you have any questions regarding a pet’s availability prior to applying, please feel free to ask via the contact form.

Adoptable Cats:
Acorn is a gorgeous 6-year-old medium-haired black female. She is very playful and loves wand toys. She’s very skittish and needs a patient home that can take the time to earn her trust. Once she gets to know you, she enjoys gentle pets. Acorn would prefer other cats that are mellow and gentle. She was also good with the small, older dogs at her foster home. Acorn is not litter-box trained.

Bambi is a striking lady who came from local animal control for a new start with her twin, Fara. Bambi is the more skittish of the two and is very hesitant with people. She does come out for squeeze up treats and will allow a gentle pet or two while snacking. We are hoping to find her a home with someone who is experienced with nervous/under socialized cats or someone who is dedicated and committed to learning. Because of her weariness of people, we think it would be highly beneficial for her to go home with another cat or to a home with an established cat friendly cat.

Carmen is another beautiful brown tabby that came from animal control. She is very nervous with people, but enjoys the company of other cats! She will need time and patience in a quiet home. She enjoys playing with toys and munching on temptations. She likes to find beds where she has a nice view of the room. She’s made lots of progress already and we know someone out there has the time and love to give to her. We are hoping to find her a home with someone who is experienced with nervous/under socialized cats or someone who is dedicated and committed to learning. Because of her weariness of people, we think it would be highly beneficial for her to go home with another cat or to a home with an established cat friendly cat.

Cheese is a 5-year-old female who is nervous around people. She loves wand toys, temptations treats and napping in windows and bird-watching. She needs someone who is patient and understanding that can take the time to allow her to decompress and begin trusting you. Cheese typically prefers to be an independent cat but will sometimes come over for a few gentle pets.

Charlie is a handsome 1-year-old orange and white cat that was found as a stray. Some kind individuals took him in and got him the care he needed before he came to us. Charlie is a curious guy, who enjoys watching the birds or staff from the cat trees. He’s done very well with the other cats here, from kittens to adults. He will play with or snuggle up beside them. He is a bit nervous still with us but is starting to come out of his shell and follow staff around. He enjoys his pets and will rub against your hand once he’s comfortable. Charlie is not a fan of being picked up but will happily get pets and rubs! Charlie is hoping to find a patient home that will allow him the chance to decompress and adjust and show all the love and fun he has within!

Claus and his siblings were found living outside and brought to us for a fresh start. Claus is nervous with new people but loves pets once he trusts you. Eventually, he is so comfortable with you, he will force his way into your lap for pets. He LOVES to play- with both the other cats and toys. Claus can often be found cuddling his friend Bambi or other young cats. Claus will need a patient adopter to help him adjust to a new home. Sweet Claus had to have whole mouth extractions during his dental due to the poor condition of his mouth, but is eating wet and dry food great!

Meet Dunkin, our gorgeous and vocal fuzzy friend! He is estimated to be around 2 years old. Dunkin was abandoned in Shorewood around the fourth of July and luckily trapped before the fireworks and extreme heat started. He’s a very chatty boy who is very food motivated. He loves snacks and food. He is quite nervous with new people and will need time to warm up. But he leans into pets and cheek rubs, happily once he’s comfortable. He seems more nervous with pets on his back. He has a gorgeous, sleek black coat. Dunkin has been doing well with the other cats and is often rubbing up against them. He has also met a few kittens and seemed to do well.

Meet Eleanor! Eleanor is a 2-year-old, female, tuxedo cat who was found in the middle of the road as a tiny kitten and scooped up by a kind citizen on their daily commute. She enjoys cuddling in comfy beds and rolling around with toys. Eleanor is very timid and takes her time to warm up. She’d prefer a quiet home that can take the time to help her come out of her shell. Once she’s comfortable, she enjoys gentle pets and playing with toys. She’s done well with most of the other cats, except for a few who were a bit too rambunctious for her taste.

Emily is a petite, senior brown tabby, who is around 12 years old. She was abandoned in Shorewood alongside another cat with a note to find her a good home. Emily is an incredibly sweet girl who loves people. She will rub against you and if you sit down will climb into your lap. She reportedly lived with two other cats previously but has not been a fan of other cats since arriving. Emily also enjoys watching the birds from a nice cat tree by the windows and sleeping on comfy blankets.

Sweet Evan was adopted out from us as a kitten and sadly returned as his owner had to move where pets are not allowed. Evan is now 6 years old and hoping to find a home where he can relax and enjoy life. He is a sweet guy who wants pets and is sure to rub against you or roll on your feet for attention. He was understandably upset when he first came back to the shelter, but is settling in. He also enjoys toys like wand toys or catnip mice. He is looking for a home without other cats. Evan is a big guy, weighing a little over 16lbs.

Envy is a cute and quirky 1.5 year old female ready for a forever home! Envy came to us from local animal control with her three kittens. They spent some time in a wonderful foster home while they got healthy and the kittens started to wean. Envy is petite and has the cutest big ears! She is incredibly affectionate and loves attention. She is doing well with the other cats and enjoys playing with them! She also loves watching the birds out the window from the cat trees.

Fozzie Bear has the best, most chubby cheeks in our cat room. This FIV+ boy is super chill and would love to lounge around your house. He is 8 years old. Fozzie also enjoys following staff around for pets. He loves to nuzzle your face with his head. Fozzie is one of the few cats that doesn’t mind being held! He will happily cuddle when picked up. He is very laid back and would make a great buddy to watch TV with. Fozzie is looking for a home without cats or dogs.
Fozzie Bear is currently residing in a foster home. If you are interested in him please let us know on your application so we can make sure he is available at the shelter when you come for a meet and greet.
Feline Immunodeficiency Virus is spread to other cats through deep-muscular bite wounds or sometimes in utero. It is not contagious to dogs or humans. Cat friendly cats with FIV can live with other cats who are negative for FIV as long as both are friendly. It is crucial that FIV cats remain indoors only and are kept up to date on vaccines. Most FIV+ cats can live normal lives.

Hilda is a petite 2-year-old brown tabby who came to us from local animal control. She is a sweet girl who enjoys pets and toys! Hilda is a special needs kitty with balance/coordination issues likely due to ataxia secondary to an infection she had upon entry, which she was treated for. She is a bit wobbly and has some awkward movements very typical of cats with mild cerebellar hypoplasia. She is able to eat, drink, and use the litter box on her own very well! Hilda doesn’t seem to mind the other cats, but due to her balance/coordination issues can struggle to get away or defend herself in the way most cats do, so any cat friends would need to be friendly. She has her buddy Lotus, who she hangs out with in the cat room and is gentle but playful and snuggly toward her. She does use the cat trees and hammocks, she just takes her time getting up and down, but they are her favorite nap spot! Now that she is free roaming and able to be more active, her balance and coordination has gotten better. She still moves a little funny and might lose her balance a bit, but her progress has been fantastic to see. Hilda unfortunately had to have most of her teeth removed due to their poor condition, but she eats dry and wet food great!

Meet our sweet, talkative, tortoiseshell buddy Joy! This sweet girl came to us with her two kitty housemates after their owner could no longer keep them. Joy is around 9 years old and currently weighs 15lbs, although she is working to lose a few pounds to keep her healthy! Joy is an absolute love and will come greet us with her silly meows once she sees us, rubbing against us for pets and attention. She is a pretty chill girl, who enjoys her naps and handing out with people. She doesn’t mind other cats and peacefully coexists with our other older, chill cats.

This chill guy is Joey! He came to us from local animal control and is now ready to find a loving forever home to cherish him! He is around 6 years old and is a big guy, weighing 20 pounds. He enjoys pets and watching his surroundings. He loves to plop down beside you and just be near you. Joey doesn’t seem to mind most other cats and sometimes will even play with them. If another cat is grumpy with him, he tends to run away or hide under something as he’s not a fan of conflict. Joey is currently on a bit of a weight loss journey, so he is hoping to find someone that can continue with his diet and work on his activity.
Joey is FIV+.

Meet Kit, a 9-year-old white and brown tabby cat looking for a new forever home. She came to us from local animal control after her owner could no longer care for her. Kit appears to enjoy our pets, leaning into cheek rubs. She’s understandably a bit lost and is still getting used to being in the shelter after 9 years in a home. We’d love to find her a loving home where she can decompress, feel safe, and be cherished for her senior years. She is front-paw declawed. Kit has lived as an only pet her whole life and seems to prefer that.

Lotus is a lovely all-black, 1-year-old cat with a sweet little face and eyes. She came to us with her littermates from Kentucky in search of a fresh start. She can be a bit shy at first but does enjoy pets and will even crawl into your lap for pets, or lay against. Lotus loves to play with toys, too! She enjoys the company of her cat friends, especially Hilda!

Meet Pebbles, an adorable 2-year-old female who was found as a stray and never reclaimed. She is a more mellow girl but melts into cheek rubs and head scratches. Pebbles doesn’t mind other cats around and is still learning how to be buddies, as she can be a bit awkward. She is starting to interact with them a bit more, we can tell she is curious, but she is taking her time understanding cat to cat interactions. She will sometimes just stand a bit away from another cat and look at them for a while. Pebbles has started to discover playing with toys and seems to enjoy catnip toys or the shiny, crinkly ball toys. This silly girl is a gem! She will even flop over while getting pets, and has a goofy grin, where you can see her little teeth poking out.

Rebel is a beautiful 5-year-old cat- white with patches of brown tabby. She is very sweet and loves to be pet but isn’t fond of being picked up and held. Rebel knows her name, and if she isn’t fast asleep, will give a chirp or come running when she hears it! She does get nervous during storms and has a spot in one of the hallways she stays tucked in during them. She also loves playing with her toys, especially anything on a string or with feathers. She’d make a wonderful addition to any loving home. Rebel would do best as an only cat. She has met a few dogs that were curious but respectful and didn’t mind them very much.
We are looking for a foster home, permanent foster, or adopter for sweet Rebel. She has been diagnosed with asthma. She takes a puff of her inhaler twice daily and does very well with it! She will need a family willing to continue this treatment.
Rebel’s adoption fee has been kindly sponsored by a wonderful donor!

Ricky is a handsome 6.5-year-old male who was returned to us when his owners could no longer care for him. He is very sweet and cuddly. He loves to be pet and carried around but he also loves to play with his toys, especially any toy on a string. Ricky is looking for a foster or foster to adopt home, as he has some medical needs (he’s currently on special urinary food and takes a medication once daily). Ricky needs to be the only cat in the home and no children. He has met a few different dogs and done well! He does spray with the other cats being around at the shelter, but this was not reported in his past home.
Ricky’s adoption fee has been sponsored by a wonderful volunteer!

This sassy 3-year-old girl with a gorgeous coat is Sesame. Sesame enjoys playing with toys, watching birds, and taking comfy naps. She can be a bit spicy and will let you know she isn’t in the mood for pets. She is looking for a home with no kids or other cats. Sesame often prefers to do her own thing or play with toys. She is not cuddly and prefers to skip the pets, but will ask for a few cheek rubs if she’s feeling up to it. She loves to curl up in cozy beds in the window and soaking up the sun. She will require an experienced adopter who understands attention is on her terms.

Sugar is a gorgeous, all white 7.5-year-old girl looking for a quiet and patient home to love her! Sugar was adopted from us as a young cat and recently returned to us with her two kitty housemates after her own could no longer keep her. She was in pretty rough shape but is now feeling a lot better! Her back was severely matted, so it did have to be shaved down, but is starting to grow back. Sugar enjoys pets, but is a nervous, and would really benefit from a home where she can relax and go at her own pace. She peacefully coexists with our other older, chill cats, but mostly keeps to herself. Our vet found she has a grade 3 heart murmur and on her bloodwork that her cardiopet (heart value) was elevated, but her chest x-rays and echocardiogram were both normal. She does not currently need any medications and our vets recommended rechecking the bloodwork in June.

Meet Sky, a gorgeous tortoiseshell cat looking for a forever home! She was found in a junkyard, when a kind person took her in to help her, and she very soon after gave birth. Now that her kittens are old enough and weaned, she is ready to find her forever home! She can be sweet and enjoy attention and pets as well as running around and playing. She is a torti though and isn’t immune to having a “torti-tude”! Since she can be quite feisty, she would do best in a home without kids. Sky received x-rays of her head to see what the cause of the abnormal shape on the bridge of her nose was. They found it was from a prior break but does not pose any issues for her as she isn’t in any pain, either. We think Sky would do best as an only cat, as she gets annoyed around the other cats quite quickly.

Meet Tony, a charming white and grey cat who was surrendered to local animal control. He is mostly white with just a splotch of grey on his head and a beautiful grey gradient on his tail. Tony is a vocal dude who meows at us for attention. We don’t mind though, as it’s hard to say no to that sweet round face! He will jump up onto your chest for attention, so you have to be ready to catch him. Tony is looking for a home as an only cat. He has started to spray with all the other cats around, although he hadn’t been for the first month of being at the shelter.

Meet our handsome boy Wally! He is 6.5 years old. Wally was originally with us as a kitten and was returned after his original owner was unable to provide him medical care. Wally was in need of some TLC and a dental, but now is feeling better! Wally likes to follow you around, rubbing against your legs. He loves head rubs and nuzzling into you. He is not a fan of being picked up or held, though. Wally is looking for a home without other pets or children. He has started to spray with being around so many other cats but had not been doing so in his prior home around cats. Wally is on Fluoxetine to help with his stress in shelter and has been doing well on it.

Meet our adorable orange boy Buttercup! He is a playful, rambunctious kitten who loves to explore and steal cat toys. He is a petite boy and is a bit picky with his food as he is not a fan of dry food. He will need a home that is willing to continue feeding wet food if he continues to dislike dry food.
DOB: 4/13/2025

Meet the planet kittens: Jupiter and Venus! Their momma, Sky, was found locally and soon after being found, gave birth. A kind person cared for them until they could find them a safe place to land. Jupiter is an adorable male tuxedo, with a tiny white mark between his eyes. Jupiter is a big sweetheart and loves to play!
DOB: 2/27/25

Nora is quite timid, so she is hoping to find a patient and loving home to help her blossom! Because she is timid, she would do best with older children who can respect her space. She would likely benefit from having a cat or kitten friend in the home.
DOB: 3/17/25
