Description

Animal Care Attendant is responsible for overall daily care of animals within the facility.

This includes maintaining clean and orderly animal housing and work areas, daily feeding and wellbeing of animals, and assisting the public.

Cooperation, a positive attitude, independent work ability and genuine care for ALL animals- regardless of species or breed- are a must for this job!

Must be at least 18 years of age!

Working Hours
20-35 hours a week, weekends required

Education
  • High School or GED equivalent (Preferred)
Required
  • Good interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work well in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks at once.
  • Ability to work independently, work timely and follow instructions with attention to detail
  • Must have patience with frightened animals and basic understanding of animal behavior, while working with all species without bias
Desired
  • Experience in an animal shelter or related field.
  • Prior animal handling experience.

Do you have any physical restrictions that may hinder your work in a strenuous, hands on work environment?*
Are you able to lift 50+ pounds?*
This position will require handling of dogs with various backgrounds which will require patience, compassion, and understanding. Are you able to provide such traits to our pets?*
This position will require you work both indoors and outdoors during all seasons and all weather possibilities. Are you comfortable working in these conditions?*
This position will, at times, require you to work with the general public. Do you consider yourself an outgoing and compassionate person?*
Animal rescue requires you to be agile and to think quickly on your feet. Would you consider this something you're good at?*
Kennel work can be messy! Are you prepared to handle various messes, such as pee, poop and/or vomit?*
